Mrs. Cora Arnold Dead.

Was widow of Dr. John T. Arnold, Gainesville Physician, and Mother of Mrs. T. J. Luna of this city.

Mrs. Cora G. (Aunt Cora) Arnold, 80 widow of Dr. John T. Arnold, prominent pioneer physician of Gainesville., died a the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Bohrer on West Main street in West Plains at 8:03 o'clock Sunday night following an illness of many weeks from a heart ailment. She had been in failing health the last two years and had been bedfast most of the time the last three months.

A native of Kentucky, Mrs. Arnold was born at Thompkinsville, Dec. 14, 1861, being next to the youngest of the thirteen children of James Patterson Conkin and Hannah Howard Conkin, who moved from Thompkinville to Ozark county, Missouri, when she was a very small child.

Arriving in Ozark county the family located at Gainesville; where Mrs. Arnold grew to womanhood. she received her early education in Gainesville, and later studied music in Springfield.

Cora Conkin was married March 5, 1883, to Dr. John T. Arnold, then a prominent young physician of the city, their marriage having been solemmized by the late Rev. C.H. Briggs, Methodist minister at his home in Springfield.

Mrs. Arnold and her husband made their home in Gainesville until after the death of Dr. Arnold in February 1904, when she moved to West Plains.

Three daughters were born to Dr. and Mrs. Arnold, two of whom survive, and who are Mrs. Tesley Luna of Gainesville, and Mrs. Bohrer at whose home she died. The other daughter, Mrs. Frank (Eva) Wood, preceded her in death in 1934.
