John Noble Conkin was born in Tennessee, a son of James Knox Polk Conkin, and Martha Ellen (Mowell) Conkin. John married Sarah "Annie" Phillips, a daughter of Jonathan Phillips and Rachel (Conkin) Phillips.

John Noble is found on the United States Census of 1880, living in Sullivan county, with his parents. His age is listed as three years, and his year of birth is estimated as 1877. [1]

Researcher's Notes

For some reason, John's Find A Grave memorial gives his date of birth as March 10, 1874, even though the photograph of the headstone on his memorial shows that he was born in 1877.
