Nancy J. Conkin was born December 6, 1851, a daughter of James T. Conkin was born in 1826, in Clover Bottom, Sullivan county, Tennessee, and his wife, Mary (Steadman) Conkin.  Nancy is found on the United States Census of 1860, living in Sullivan county, Tennessee, with her parents. 
Nancy, aka "Nannie" married George W. Hickman. Nannie and George were the parents of at least one daughter:
Mary D. Hickman, born circa 1884, died 1910, at about the age of 15 years.
Nancy, George and Mary D. are found on the United States Census of 1900, living in Sullivan county, Tennessee.  Nancy died January 7, 1926 in Sullivan county, Tennessee, and is buried in the Lone Star cemetery. 
"Nannie" Hickman is listed as George's wife on his pension records from his service in the Union Army (Calvary) during the American Civil War.
