Sidney was born in 1851. He was the son of George Conn and Margaret Holmes. married Eliza Jane Rigsby in 1871 and had ten children between 1872 and 1888, the last one born six months after his death (Minnie 1872, Lillie 1873, Lula 1875, William Andrew 1877, Ophelia 1878, Nellie 1880, James Tram 1882, Clay K 1886, Virginia, 1886 and Cidney "Boonie" Boon, 1888). Nine of the ten children are referenced on Findagrave. He passed away in 1887 and was buried at Old Paint LIck Cemetery, Kentucky.
