Biography

1776 Project
Thomas Connally performed Patriotic Service in North Carolina in the American Revolution.

Thomas Connally is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A025064.

Thomas was born in 1738, the son of John Connally and Margaret Oldham. He married Polly Price and they had children: Thomas, Charles, Thomas, George, Margaret, Price, Elizabeth (Gaddis), David, Abner, Nathaniel Nickerson, Mary (Strickland, William Lindsey, Christopher Columbus, Frances Christian, Samuel. Tom served as private in the 4th troop of Lee's Legion, Continental troops during the Revolutionary War. He taught school in Norfolk, VA and later taught in Chapel Hill, NC. His wife Polly was a student in Norfolk.[1] He donated 100 acres of land in Chapel Hill NC for the State University. Thomas passed away in 1838 and was buried in the Strickland Cemetery, Gwinett Co, GA.
