Biography

John Robert Conner[1] was born in Virginia, but later moved to Iowa.[2] He came west with his father and the rest of his family, arriving in Oregon November 3, 1852.[3][4]

He died in Coos County, Oregon, in 1878.[5]

Research Notes

The Secretary of State records his death as about 1902, but other records state that he died in Coos County in 1878. And to support this, his two youngest sons were living with Oscar and Margaret Connor Darnielle in 1880. Moreover, he fails to appear in census data from 1880 on.
