Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the message and question(s)!

I checked the links in the comment for weeks 2, 3 and 4 in below comment and they all work for me. What links are you asking me about?

You will find answers to your GEDCOM questions here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help_Index#G

It takes a couple days or some time longer for your GEDCOM to be reviewed by the GEDCOM manager and sent to you for GED compare. If your GEDCOM was a large one then you might have to split it up. That information is also in the link above for GEDCOM Help.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Joseph,

This week we have your last stop on the guided tour. Hopefully, you're feeling like a WikiTree pro!

You've covered a lot of ground the past few weeks. Today, we want to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Emma--Wiki Greeter

Hi Emma,

I'm wondering if you can help me. A family member's profile was edited today (or I learned of it today) and while the edit is not correct, I am excited by this person's surname and hope she can help me delve further into that line. But WikiTree only seems to offer a "Thank" option which wouldn't be helpful in this case. Thanks Joseph

On the line telling you about the edit, it should have the person's name. You can click on that to go to their profile. On their profile, click on the "Send Private Message" link or post a message on their profile. Emma
Hi Joseph,

You've probably been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You should have at least a few profiles that you manage now.

This week, we'd like to introduce you to our community and show you some ways to get more involved and stay up to date on everything that's going on: How to Join in the Community.

Week 3: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

Week 4: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

Feel free to work through the how to's at your own pace.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi there! My name is Vicky (Freeth) Majewski and I am a WikiTree Mentor.

I'm just checking in to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Any questions? Any issues?

Feel free to contact me via my profile page. I am happy to help!

Hello Joseph,

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum:<nowiki>Have you discovered any real characters in your branches?</nowiki>

Welcome! From Marshall

Hello Joseph and welcome to WikiTree! The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started. You volunteered before I could get a welcome to you so I will confirm you next message.

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree! We're really glad you're here!

Marshall, a volunteer greeter
