Robert Connor was born in County Down, Ireland in 1768. He married Jane McKee on August 16, 1819 in Bottear, Moira, County Down and they had a large family of 10 children. In 1842, the family emigrated to America and settled in Peebles Township, just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Robert died in Pittsburgh on October 8, 1851 and is buried in Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood.[1]
