Biography

Clinton was born near Garber in Sullivant Township, Ford County, Illinois on 24 April 1892.[1][2] He was the youngest son of Paul Conrad and Caroline Escher.[3] His father Paul Conrad died when he was four years old. Clinton never married, and died at Gibson City, Ford County on 4 October 1980. He is buried in Drummer Township Cemetery at Gibson City, Ford County, Illinois.[1]

Elmer C. Conrad appeared in the household of his mother for the 1900 U.S. Census at Sullivant Township, Ford County, Illinois as 7 years old, born in Illinois in April of 1893. He was living with his mother and nine of hie siblings.[4]

In the 1910 census at Drummer Township, Ford County, Clint Conrad appeared as an 18 year old farm laborer, born in Illinois, single and able to read and write. He was living on his mother's farm with five of his siblings.[5]

E. Clinton Conrad was listed in the 1920 census at Drummer Township as a 27 year old farmer, born in Illinois and single. He was living with his mother Caroline.[6]

Clinton Conrad appeared in the 1930 census at Drummer Township as a 37 year old farmer born in Illinois. He was living with his mother Caroline.[7]

In the 1940 census at Drummer Township, Clinton E. Conrad was listed as head of household, a 47 year old single farmer, born in Illinois. The highest grade he had completed in school was recorded as 8th and he was living on his own farm valued at 1859 with his widowed sister Susan Padgett.[8]

In 1942 Clinton was still living with his sister Susan Padgett at RFD Foosland, Drummer Township, Ford County.[9]
