Alice was born March 23, 1868.[1] And yes, her middle name was Tryphena ... it's quite unusual but is a Biblical name from Romans 16:12. The birth record says "LaHave" but that name was used generically in records for multiple communities on both sides of the river. Her family lived in Upper LaHave.
She married Josiah Wagner on February 12, 1886.[2] Alice and Josiah had one child.
Josiah was lost at sea later that year and the following year on October 6, 1887, she married Henry Arthur Randall.[3] He was Henry Arthur at birth and at his marriage but apparently later reversed his name to Arthur Henry. They had nine children. Arthur died at age 59 and Alice lived another 30 years until she died June 10, 1957.[4] She is buried in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Upper LaHave.[5]
