Biography

Mary Conroy was born in 1835 in Newry, Ireland, daughter of John Conroy (1803 - 1877) and Susan (Semple) Conroy.[citation needed]

She married Robert John Roberts on 18 September 1854 at Trinity Church in Pentridge (Coburg), Victoria, Australia.[1] Their children were:

Mary died on 17 September 1859 in Brunswick, Victoria, aged 24 years.[2] Her remains were buried at Melbourne General Cemetery, Roman Catholic L grave 93.

Burial: Mary is alone in an unmarked, common grave. Her mum & sister Margaret & niece Susan are in MGC RC K 84her Dad John & sister Charlotte are in MGC RC D 308; her sister Catherine in RC C 74 at Coburg.

Event: Poor Mary is buried in an unmarked public grave at MGC. Her sister Charlotte left £10 in 1917 to the local priest to say a prayer for the repose of her own soul. I wonder if anyone prayed for Mary who died the day before her 5th wedding anniversary?
