Lavinia (Constable) Cooper was born in Cambridgeshire, England.

Lavinia was born about 1877. She is the daughter of Henry Constable and Louisa Purell.

In 1881 she was living in Long Lane, Stretham and she was 4 years and a scholar. [1]

In 1891, she was 14 years old and working as an Agricultural Labourer. [2]

Lavinia Ellen Constable married James Barker in 1903. The marriage was registered in Ely in the first quarter of the year.[3]

Lavinia and James had three children:

  1. Maud Annie Barker (1903-1917)
  2. William Leslie Barker (1906-1987)
  3. Violet Emily (Barker) Cooper (1909-1989)

In 1911 Levenia Ellen Barker (age 34) lived in Witchford, Cambridgeshire with her husband James (44, General Labourer) and three children: Maud Anine (7), William Leslie (5), and Volet Emily (1), as well as her mother-in-law Pheby (76).[4]

Lavinia's husband passed away in 1919:

  • "BARKER James of Witchford Cambridgeshire farm labourer died 5 October 1919 Probate Peterborough 12 December to Ellen Lavinia Barker widow. Effects £20 5s. 3d."[5]

Lavinia E Barker married the widower Robert Cooper in 1920. The marriage was registered in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire in the third quarter of the year.[6]

In 1921 Lavinia Ellen Cooper (age 45) lived in Witchford with her husband Robert (45), two stepsons: Arthur (16) and Ellis (13), son William Leslie Barker (15), daughter Violet Emily Barker (12), and three others: Annie Bracknell (82), Alfred Thoday (9), and Alice Loveridge (7).[7]

Lavinia's husband passed away in 1937.

In 1939 Lavinia E Cooper (born in 1877) lived at The Gables Main Street in Littleport, Ely - also at the same address were three others: Basil Cooper (1923), William Bailey (1858), and Frank L Grey (1914).[8]

Lavinia E Cooper passed away on 27 Aug 1949, aged 71 years. Her death was registered in Ely in the third quarter of the year.[9] Probate of her estate was granted to her son William on 4 Oct 1949.[10]

  • "COOPER Lavinia Ellen of Main-street Witchford Cambridgeshire widow died 27 August 1949 Administration Peterborough 4 October to William Leslie Barker labourer. Effects £326 3s. 10d."[11]

She is buried at St Andrew's Churchyard in Witchford.[12]
