John Constable was born in Cambridgeshire, England.

John was born in the third quarter of 1839. He was the son of Philip Constable and Hannah Saberton. ^[1]

In 1841, he was 2 years old and living at Green End, Stretham. ^[2]

In 1851, his age was given as 8 and he was 'employed in fields.' ^[3]

By 1861, he was married and living in Front Street, Stretham. He was working as an Agricultural Labourer. ^[4]

In 1871, his age was given as 32 and he was still working as an Agricultural Labourer. ^[5]

In 1881, he was 40 years old and living in Long Lane, Stretham. He was working as an Agricultural Labourer. ^[6]
