William Constable of Flamborough was born about 1185, the son of Robert Constable and his wife Euphemia, an heir of Roger Arundel.

"As William Constable son of Robert Constable of Holme he granted to William son of Alexander de Sancton facilities in Holme upon Spalding Moor, appurtenant to the grantee's half-knight's fee in Sancton in c 1200-18. In1207 as WIlliam Constable of Flamborough, he rendered account of a aplfrey for having seisin of a carucate of land in Bubwith. In 12-18-19 the township of Holme upon Spalding Moor. belonging to William Constable, was in mercy because of a wrongful presentation. In 1221 he and John de Beauver were named as sharing with others in the lands which had belonged to master Roger Arundel.... In 1224-30, both he and John de Beauver held half a knight's fee upon Holme of Spalding Moore of Nigel de Mowbray.
"His wife's name was Juliana, who survived him and was living in 1267; and besides his eldest son Robert he had a younger son John rector of Egmanton, co Nottingham who witnessed Robert's confirmation of their father's gift to Bridlington priory (ca 1244), and another son Henry who held land in Sewerby....
