Eleanor was born in January 9, 1731 in Port Conway Caroline, Virginia.[1] Her birthplace of Port Conway is named after her family. She is the daughter of Francis Conway and Rebecca Catlett. She passed away in 1829.
Eleanor Rose Conway, of Caroline, married on September 3, 1749, Colonel James Madison, Senior, of Montpelier, Orange County, son of Ambrose and Frances Taylor Madison. She was named for her great aunt, Eleanor Brocos.[2] They had 12 children together.
