He was noted as at school, born August 1889 in Mississippi and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head James R Cook, wife Mary Cook, daughter Lula Cook, son Lucas Cook and mother Mary Jane Cook.[1]

James E Cook was enumerated as head of the household at 502 Burleson Street, San Antonio Ward 6, Bexar County, Texas for the January 2, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1891 in Texas. He was married, a renter and a fireman (railway) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Inez Cook and son James Cook Jr.[2]

James E Cook was enumerated as head of the household at 1130 Lamar Street, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas for the April 7, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1890 in Mississippi and married. He was first married at the age of twenty-seven. He was an owner of a home worth $5000 and a locomotive fireman (steam railroad) as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Inez Cook, son James E Cook Jr., daughter Beula J Cook and daughter Florence E Cook.[3]
