Biography

Ph. D, (Chemistry) University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) circa 1942. While working for US Naval Research (Washington, DC) Shell Development Company (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and the University of California (Berkeley) he used his considerable talents toward developing early versions of what would become known as the internet. (He is also frequently credited with being a co-inventor of the modern mass spectrometer.)
