DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Fred by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Fred:

Hi Fred,

I saw that the profile for Lewis E. Cook is listed as an "Unmerged match" with an obvious duplicate Lewis E. Cook. Unmerged matches are used when there is conflicting info between duplicate profiles and the managers need to work through them. I don't see any conflicts on Lewis' profiles. Can you initiate a merge instead? If not, could you explain what the concern is that's preventing a merge? Thank you! :) ~Sarah

Welcome to the Mayflower Project. Coordination of the changes to Mayflower profiles is done in g2g. Please check in to g2g to keep track of the changes to the Cook/Cooke family. Francis Cooke who sailed on the Mayflower has a slightly different spelling of his last name, although both spellings have been used. Thank you for joining the project. Becky Syphers

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hello Fred and welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
