May was born on 14 May 1916 in Guisborough. Her mothers maiden name is Darley. [1]
In 1939 May is working in the Domestic Service for a family at Laurel Bank, Hudroyd Road, Meltham, Yorkshire. [2]
May married Fred Singleton on 1 Jan 1941 at The Methodist Central Hall, Thurnscoe. [3] [4]
In 2002 May was listed on the Electoral Registers with her son Raymond. They lived at 69 Ringway, Rotherham (Her husband Fred is also listed but this is incorrect as he passed away in 1999) [5]
May died on 21 Aug 2004 in Barnsley [6]
