Thomas was born on 25 January 1860 in Fremantle, to parents Thomas Cook and Honora Ray.[1][2]
Thomas married Elizabeth Proctor on 31 March 1886 at Perth.[3][4]
My guess is that Thomas migrated to Australia and was a trained Blacksmith and set up a business on the corner of Norfolk St Fremantle with a house next door which is still there. The forge made iron parts for sailing ships and the business was passed down the family at least one generation. It was in the 1980's a ships chandlery.
My cousin Kaye had a 112Lb anvil from the forge and Elizabeth Cook's cast iron cot at Bunbury.
My father Robert Raebel (Cook) remembered as a boy operating a Press Brake (steam?) punching out 2" square washers with a 1" hole from heated bar stock.
