On April 20, 1891, he married Mary Ann Samuel in Adelaide. At this time, he stated he was a widower but it appears this was not the case as Fanny went on to have many more children with others.[3]
1891 Marriage
.
He passed away in 1938. At the time of his death he lived in Park Street, Bowden on the Hill, but died in Adelaide Hospital. He had been there for 3 weeks. His wife, took ill after visiting him on Sunday and died suddenly. When members of his family visited him on Tuesday night, he inquired for his wife, but, acting on medical advice, his family did not tell him of her death, and Mr. Cook never learned of it.[4]. He is buried in West Terrace Cemetery, South Australia[5].
