==Cook Family History== Philip and Mary Cook were from Lincoln, North Carolina, USA.

Philip's father is possibly John Cook. To this marriage 6 known children (infant, John, Mary, Christopher, Joseph and David). Many land records are documented from 1771-1822 in Lincoln, NC.

John married Millia Whetstine , Mary married Jacob Hauser, died in Knox, TN , Christopher married Anna Wise, Joseph married Polly Sepaugh, David married Emaline Goodwin

In the early 1830's David, John and Christopher Cook came to Indiana from NC. It is believed these 3 Cook's could possibly be brothers. They traveled together, bought land and raised their families in the same area. In that era, it was tradition to name children after relatives. These 3 Cooks used many of the same names of their children. Due to the type of records kept in those days and in conjunction with the fact that many could not read or write; land records and census records are the main sources of identifying these families. Christopher bought his first land on Nov 25, 1830; John bought some in 1842 and David bought land on Sept 2, 1833. Between 1833 and 1845, these 3 Cook's continued to buy land in the same area. This land was in Washington Township, Morgan County, Indiana.

David died in 1845, John died on Feb 11, 1846 and Christopher died in Aug 1847 in Morgan County, Indiana. Christopher is buried in Townsend cemetery located in range 1-E of Washington Township,Morgan County, Indiana. This is on the property that David bough on Sept 2, 1833. it is believed that all three brothers are buried there, as well as other family members. An outbreak of Asiatic Cholera about that time took many lives.

When John died he had unpaid bill. The Sheriff sold 40 of his 80 acres for $105.11 to settle his debt. The sale of these 40 acres listed all of John's children.

John's son, Philip, married a few months after his father's death. In 1853, Philip was the Justice of the Peace when he sold his own 40 acres farm and the remaining 40 acres of his fathers' 80 acres farm.

Christopher's son, Philip, was also a Justice of the Peace in Morgan County at one time. Several descendants of David, John and Christopher Cook moved to Iowa, then Missouri and eventually settled in Washington County, Kansas.

William II and Nancy Cannady Reedy had a daughter by the name of Barbara. The 1850 Federal Census report shows Philip Cook and Barbara living in Washington Township, Morgan County, Indiana. This same census shows William II and Mariah Coons( Williams' second wife) living in the same area.

Philip and Barbara moved to Washington County, Iowa in 1854. In 1856, they moved to Harrison County, Missouri.

William II and Mariah Reedy also moved to Missouri in 1856. That year Elizabeth Cook, daughter of Philip Cook and Sally "Millie" Whetstine, married Ezekiel Reedy I, son of William II and Nancy (Cannady) Reedy, in Harrison County, Missouri. William II and Mariah(Cannady) Reedy moved to Marshall County, Kansas around 1857. Philip and Barbara Cook, Ezekiel I and Elizabeth Reedy remained in Harrison Country, Missouri. In about 1866, Philip and Barbara Cook, Ezekiel I and Elizabeth Reedy moved to Washington County, Kansas. Their farms, as show in the country records, were both in Little Blue Township near Ballard's Falls, Washington County, Kansas.
