Biography
Charlie was born in 1911, the son of Claude Cook and Margaret Nicholas.[1] He later took the name of his step father - Collings.
He married Gwendolyn Frances Harding Moody in the St. Barnabas Church on the 5 September 1935.[2]
AUCKLAND STAR - 8 JANUARY 1934 / ENGAGEMENTS ANNOUNCED The engagement is announced of Gwendolyn Frances Harding, eldest daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. J. H. Moody, Bellvue Road, Mount Eden, to Charles Basil, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Collings, of Leigh.[3]
AUCKLAND STAR - 19 JANUARY 1935 / MARRIAGES - COLLINGS--MOODY On September 5, at St. Barnabas Church, by Rev Bamford. Gwendolyn Frances Harding, elder daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. J H Moody, Mount Eden, to Charlie Basil, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Collings, Leigh.[4]
He passed away in 1992.[5] and is buried in the North Shore Memorial Park - Auckland, New Zealand[6]
