Biography

Amos was born in 1825 in Maine. (Based on his age at the time of his death - 80 years, 3 months and 25 days - he was born about March 15, 1825.)

In 1850, he was a laborer living on the family farm in Dixmont.[1] (His mother is listed as "insane".) Three years later he married Amanda Craig, and the 1860 census shows them living in Dixmont with their four young children.[2] Amos was a farmer with real estate valued at $3000.

They remained in Dixmont throughout their lives. Amos died there in 1905, at the age of 80.[3][4]
