Biography

Margaret went to live with her mother's sister Mahala after the death of Nancy Lewis Thornton Cook. Her brother George Addison Cook went to live with her mother's sister Fetna.

Her name appears occasionally as "Mary Margaret Cook" although generally she appears as "Margaret," sometimes referred to as "Maggie." (See 1880 Census in Sources) Marriage record shows her as "Mary Margaret."

Probably named after mother's sister, Mary Margaret Thornton.
