George was born in 1903 the son of Theophilus Augustus Cook (~1881 - 1962) and Elizabeth Ada Hardy, and his birth was registered in the 4th quarter 1903 in Greenwich, London.[1][2]
George, a wagon repairer, married Florence Maud Cranny on the 27th August 1932 at St Paul's Church, Greenwich and the marriage was registered in the 3rd quarter 1932 in Greenwich, Kent. Florence was living at 29 Egerton Road, Greenwich and her father, Edward, was a telegraph worker. George was living at 62 Woodpecker Road, New Cross, London and his father, Theophilus, was a window cleaner. The witnesses were Charles Horace Jones and Ethel Cook.[3]
