Mrs Robinson's house, Blenavon House, High Street, Marske-by-the-Sea, was later - and for many years - the home of my grandparents Arthur Ernest Julius Sidaway and Sarah Edith Sidaway (born Pallant). My grandfather had a dentistry practice there and it was their family home. My father, George Evelyn Pallant Sidaway, and his siblings lived there as children. My father told one of my sisters that Captain Cook's parents once lived in a building which later became a garden shed in the garden of Blenavon House. I haven't been able to find any evidence of this but the building behind Blenavon House could have been much older. The address of the small building was more likely St Germain's Lane than High Street; there is a path from St Germain's Lane to the back garden where the little building is. I lived at the house next door to Blenavon House.
