(PLEASE NOTE: as to religious affiliation. Despite references to the contrary, no member of this Cook Family as known among the first three generations (beginning with Andrew and Anna Christina Cook), were LDS. In instances where I have created the Profile, if I've cited biographical text accompanying the Wikitree Profile, and if a religious affiliation or membership in a faith-community was known, the practice was usually mentioned as such. I otherwise make no effort to comment or intrude upon the spiritual lives of my ancestors. Jlphawn)

WILLIAM CHARLES COOK
The first child of WILLIAM and JANE (McGARVY) COOK, was born at Lloydtown, Ontario in 1833.
It has been difficult to determine whether or not WILLIAM CHARLES moved with his parents to Wisconsin in 1856 when they left Lloydtown. He was certainly back with his parents in Wisconsin in 1860 as the Wisconsin Census of that date clearly lists him as a Farm Labourer, aged 26, on his father's farm.
On the other hand, an elderly living relative has been positive in her recollection that WILLIAM CHARLES did not leave Canada in 1856 with his parents. The old family records recently to hand suggest the reason for the apparent conflict in the information we had already acquired.
It is now evident that WILLIAM CHARLES COOK was first married to:
AMELIA SCHOOLEY
Their marriage - occurring probably at about the time of his parents' emigration to Wisconsin, thus accounting for his remaining in Canada.
It has become equally obvious that his first wife, AMELIA SCHOOLEY COOK must have died shortly after their marriage-- there were no children—and at that time, WILLIAM CHARLES must then have joined his parents, and siblings--(except for his sister: LORETTA), who were already settled at Stockbridge, Calumet County, Wisconsin.
(PLEASE NOTE: In spite of repeated efforts to procure candidate records both for UNITED STATES--and--CANADIAN Collections failed to produce compelling matches for AMELIA and her marriage to WILLIAM; and not found were any Vital Records for Amelia identifying the event of death)
Unmarried at the time of the 1860 Census, WILLIAM CHARLES then returned to Canada and in about 1861, he married
SARAH LUCINDA SCHILLER
She was a native of Cooksville, Ontario.
WILLIAM CHARLES and his second bride, SARAH LUCINDA then removed to Wisconsin, where they had one child in 1862:
LUCINDA JANE ("Jennie") COOK.
We have not been successful in learning more concerning WILLIAM CHARLES and SARAH LUCINDA (SCHILLER) COOK... but it is clear that both had died by 1864. Because it was in that year (1864), that their only daughter: "JENNIE" was returned to Canada where she was raised by her Schiller grandparents.
