Biography

Hannah COOK, daughter of John COOK (1747-1822) and Elizabeth PROCTER (1742-1790), was born in 1777.(*1) She married Samuel DAVIS on 1 February 1798 in St. Bartholomew's Parish Church, Norton in the Moors, Staffordshire, England.(*2) They were married by John Richardson. Samuel and Hannah both signed their names in the register. William Steel was the witness. Hannah died in 1820.(*3) She was buried on 4 November 1820 in The Church of St. Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke, Staffordshire, England.(*4)

Samuel and Hannah had 10 children christened at Stoke between 1798 and 1819.Hannah died just over a year after their youngest child Eliza was christened. Samuel remarried the following year and had two further children with his second wife.
