Caroline Anne Cooke was born on 21st December 1812 at Gloucestershire, England. She was a daughter of John Cooke of Gloucester.
She married widower and father of six, Reverend William Havergal, on 29th July 1851 at Newent, Worcestershire.[1] Through this marriage Caroline became the step-mother of poetess and hymnwriter, Frances Ridley Havergal, and clergyman and organist Henry East Havergal.
She passed away, aged 65 years, in 1878 at Warwick, Warwickshire.[2]
