Theodora Cooke was the daughter of Edmund Cooke of Lesnes Abbey, Erith, and Mount Mascall, Bexley, co. Kent, England and his wife Elizabeth, daughter and coheiress of John Nichols and widow of Clement Bere of Dartford, co. Kent. England. She had two sons and a daughter with Clement Bere.

She married Sir Thomas Josselyn about 1603. Thomas had been knighted by King James I on May 11, 1603. They had the following children:

  1. Theodora was baptized September 25, 1604.
  2. Henry was born about 1606 and died in Maine, New England just prior to May 10, 1683. He married Margaret Cammock, widow of Captain Thomas Cammock.
  3. John was born about 1608 and died after 1675. He was a traveler, writer and naturalist.

Theodora (Cook) (Bere) Josselyn died and was buried at Bexley, co. Kent, England on August 13, 1635.
