William Newsom Cooke was born on March 26, 1814 in Giles, Virginia, United States, son of William Doby Cooke (1784–1853) and Catherine Stewart (1790–1881).[1]
William died on June 21, 1862 in Parkersburg, Nicholas, West Virginia, United States, aged 48. He was serving in the Civil War, and reportedly died of typhoid fever.
