It is believed that Wiliam was born 1780-1785 and died between 1845-1850. (He was on the MS Census in 1845, but his wife was listed on US Census 1850 as a widow, living with her son John.)

Parents

William was the son of John A. Cooley (a Revolutionary War Patriot) and his wife, Rachel. It is believed and mostly accepted that William's mother was Rachel Kinchen, although it hasn't been proven.

In 1829 Wayne co. extended into Indian lands. Jasper and Clarke County were formed from the northern part of Wayne County and Jones County on the west).

Coley-719 and Cooley-1195 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicates. The ancestors and descendants in this line used Cooley. Coley is the other family of which Peter Coley was one of the first to settle in the USA.
