Biography

Joseph, son of Joseph Cooley and Mary Griswold, was born on 31 Jan 1686/7 at Springfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts.[1] He died before 10 Mar 1741 at Somers, Tolland, Connecticut, when inventory of his estate was taken and was buried in North Cemetery there.

Joseph married Mary DORCHESTER, daughter of James DORCHESTER Sr and Sarah PARSONS, on 28 May 1713 at Springfield, Hampshire County, MA. They had 11 children (surname COOLEY): [2][3]

The settlement of his estate made bequests to be "equally divided among the nine children" including Deborah Cooley, Abigail Cooley, Eunice Cooley, eldest son George Cooley, Joseph Cooley, James Cooley, heirs of Asahel Cooley dec'd, daughter Mary Munson, and other daughters (viz Sarah Cooley).[1]
