  1. William, Feb. 28, 1729/30, born in Springfield (Longmeadow). He was admitted to the Bolton Church at the time of his mother’s admission, 1759.
  2. Elizabeth, Mar. 23, 1734, born in Enfield. She had a son, Dr. Samuel Cooley.

William (Sr.) passed away on March 10, 1775 and is buried in the Quarryville Cemetery.[4] His tombstone bears this inscription:

This monument is sa-
cred to the memory of
Mr William Cooley who
departed this life
March the 10th 1775.
In the 77th year of his age.
Great God, I own thy sentence
And nature must decay
I yield my body to the dust
To dwell with fellow clay
Tho' greedy Worms devour my skin
And gnaw my wasting Flesh
When God shall build my Bones again.[5]
