Biography

Simon Coolidge was a son of John Coolidge and Mary Ravens, born about 1632. His birth year is estimated from a deposition he gave in 1662, stating his age as 30.[1] His place of birth is not determined. His parents had immigrated to New England before 1636, when his father became freeman in Watertown, Massachusetts, but might have emigrated as early as 1630. Thus, he may have been born in England or Massachusetts.

Simon married Hannah Barron, daughter of Ellis and Hannah (Hawkins) Barron;, in Watertown on 17 November 1658; she died July 14, 1680. For his second wife he married Priscilla (Dawes) Rogers on 19 January 1681/2.[2][3]

He died at Watertown 27 December 1693. His second wife, Priscilla Coolidge, survived him.[4] She died in 1694.

Coolidge-117 and Coolidge-62 appear to represent the same person because: Family members are consistent. Sources indicate his name as Simon; Simeon is a different name, but can be considered an alternate spelling.
