1748 Solomon COMES [sp.?] petitioned the Governor's Council for a permit to run a ferry between Staten Island and New York City; permit denied. (GDAC, 1925. Ref: Cat. Land Papers of NY, p. 252)
31 Oct 1750 Letters of Administration were issued to Joseph ROYALL, 31 Oct 1750, in the estate of Solomon COMBES of Richmond County. (GDAC, 1925)
GDAC Notes (paraphrased): This Solomon was possibly s/o Richard2 (Richard1), baptised with siblings in Grace Church, Jamaica, Queens Co, NY, on 14 Mar 1714. He was possibly also the same who married, license, 17 Sep 1738, New York, Sarah LEE. The name of Solomon also appears in the New Jersey families and this Solomon of Richmond County may not be a descendant of Richard. Children: Solomon4; m Sarah GUE; John; m. Dorothy HOYT; Betsey; m. David GUE of Newburgh, [Orange Co] NY. (Sources not included for children of Solomon, nor their marriages)."
