(From "The Colonist," No.-. 8.) The death occurred yesterday morning et the residence of her daughter, Mrs J. S. Newport, of a highly-esteemed and respected pioneer settler of this district in Mrs Eliza Livick, of Milton-street, the Wood and relict of the late Jonathan Livick, wharfinger of this city, who predeceased her by 33 years. The deceased lady was born in Hampshire, England, in the year 1831, and arrived with her parents in New, Zealand in the year 1843 in the ship Lord. Auckland: She had resided in Nelson ever since, where she was respected and loved by all who knew her. Of late years she had been in failing health, and passed peacefully,away at the age of 82 years. - She leaves three sons and four daughters to mourn her loss— Messrs H. Livick, Levin and Co. ; J. Livick, Anchor Foundry; H. 0. Livick, Telegraph Office, all of Nelson: Mrs Henderson, Williamstown, Melbourne ;. Mrs J. S. Newport, Nelson; Mrs Robinson, Maungatapere, Auckland; Mrs R. Trewavas, Riwaka; and 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
