Biography
Parents of George P Coombs died at sea in route to South Carolina. 13 Aug 1801, age seven, he was placed at Orphan House of Charleston under indenture to St Phillips Church until age of 21 - Aug 13, 1814. 2nd Indenture dated 31 Mar 1803 from Orphan House to William McColloch aka William McCullough of Fairfield Dist, SC. The 1810 Census lists Wm McCullough and female, both aged 26-44 and male 10-15 (Geo P Combs) living next to Daniel McCullough and James McCullough Jr. 1860 Census, he list country of birth as England.
