Biography
Robert Coombs was born in England.
Robert was born in 1836: this is given consistently on the 1861 to 1911 Census records.
He married first Betsey Reaves in 1856. They had two children. She died in 1883.
He married second Philippa Jones, a widow, in 1884. She had two children from her previous marriage and they had two children together.
He was one of the founder members of Clark, Nicholls and Coombs the makers of Clarnico confectionary.
He passed away in 1919. This is not only on FreeBMD but also in England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1995 on Ancestry.
