Biography

James Garfield Coombs, was born 5 Febraury 1882, to Eseck Washington Coombs and Jennie Weaver. He was their third child and first son.[1]

The 1900 Census has James living in Boston with his dad, Eseck. He was 18 at the time. [2]

By 1910, James was a lodger, living with a group of men in Beverly, Massachusetts. [3]

The 1920 Census finds James in Beverly, Massachusetts, again living as a boarder, this time with Charles Babrick and his wife and daughter. James seems to have never married.[4]

According to his draft card[5], James worked as a machine hand for United Shoe Machining Company. He was of medium height and build, had dark brown hair and light brown eyes.

James died 20 June 1925 and is buried in Beverly, Massachusetts at Central Cemetery.[6][7]
