Biography

Bridget Coombs was born[1] in Islesboro, Maine, May 10, 1788, the daughter of Fields Coombs.

She married[2] Samuel Veazie.

"Mrs Brigit Veazie Died April 28th 1858."[3] She was buried[4] on the island of Islesboro, in a cemetery on the east side, upper end, likely the cemetery now known as Bay View.

In 1850, Bridget was listed in the household of William F. Veazie in Islesboro. Farrow[5] lists a gravestone for Bridget, wife of Samuel Veazie, in a cemetery "of the east side, upper end" of the island of Islesboro with the information "died Apr.28, 1858, aged 69 years, 11 mo., 18 days." In Chapter X of his book, Farrow states Bridget died April 12, 1854 at the same age, which appears to be an error.
