Biography

Jairus was born^[1] 17 Feb 1815,^[2] in Islesboro, MA [ME], the son of Fields Coombs and Martha Veazie and he died 25 Apr 1882.^[3] Captain Jarus [sic.] Coombs' marriage intentions were published at Islesboro on 14 Sep 1844 to Statire/Statira Layne, both of Islesboro, and they were married on 5 Dec 1844 by Ephraim Coombs, Minister of the Gospel.^[4] Jairus was a sea captain.^[5]
