Ross Henry Cooper was born in 1851 to Ross Henry Cooper, Sr. and Ann Cochrane. In 1873 he married Augusta Maud Borden[1] and they had three children, Frederick, Annie, and John. Ross remarried after Augusta's death, to Articia Davison[2] and they had four additional children together, Bessie, Ina, Ross Herbert, and Alma. R.H. Cooper was elected mayor of Springhill, Nova Scotia, in 1892 and served one term. He died in 1931.[3]
