Biography
Alexander was born in 1797. He passed away in 1863. Son of William Cooper. Grandson of John Cooper.
The children of Alexander Cooper and his first wife, Elizabeth Stinson, who were mentioned in his will were: Mary Amanda (Henderson), Sarah, Aletha M (Herron), Adam W, Harriet E (Henderson), Thomas S, Charlotte, Laura C, Feralie Almina (Pegram), Frances Elizabeth (Gallant). I am sure that there were more children from this marriage dated 4 March 1824.
His second marriage was to Elizabeth Dunn Jamison and the will mentions a step-daughter, Elizabeth.
A daughter of Alexander & Elizabeth Stinson, Carolina, (1824-1854) was married to Jonathan Reid and had two daughters. Those grand-daughters, Elizabeth Jane and Nancy Caroline Reid are mentioned in the will.
