He died on February 2, 1865, his wife living until December 15,1890. Sarah Parker was a daughter of Elisha and Rebecca Parker. RebeccaParker was a daughter of Garrett Turman, Sr., who was a soldier in theRevolutionary War, and who was at one time held a prisoner by the Indiansfor six months. This was during the Revolutionary War, when NorthCarolina and Georgia were overrun by the Tories and the frontiersdevastated by the Indians..."
