Biography

Maria Coote, born in 1829,^[1] was the daughter of Robert Coote and Margaret (Grier) Coote. She married Henry M. Smythe on 3 December 1855. This was reported in the Freeman's Journal as follows: December 3, at Lea Church, in the Queen's co, Henry M SMYTHE Esq of Newpark, co Roscommon, to Maria, second daughter of the late Capt COOTE, of Portarlington, and niece of Sir Charles Henry Coote Bart, Ballyfin.^[2][3]

She died on 2 April 1882 at Barbaville, County Westmeath, Ireland, murdered.^[4][5]

Her Estate was registered in the same year.^[6][7]
