George Gilbert Coote was born in on 17 Apr 1911 in Victoria Park, Norwood, South Australia, Australia. He was the son of Robert Henry Coote and Ellen Gilbert [1]

Magill Methodist Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on June 15th, when Miss Phyllis Harrod eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. G. Harrod, of Magill, was married to Mr George Coote, elder son of Mrs and the late Mr R. H. Coote, of Middleton. The Rev. A. M. Davis officiated.
The church was very nicely decorated by the bride's sisters. Mr Malcolm Coward, friend of the bride and bridegroom, assisted at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful gown of needlerun lace over satin, with draped neckline. long sleeves forming a point over the hand, and the skirt merging into a shelllike train. She wore a tulle veil. loaned by her aunt, with a halo of orange blossom (previously worn by her mother). She carried a shower bouquet of mixed flowers. She also wore an opal pendant, the gift of the bridegroom.
The bridesmaids, sisters of the the bride, were frocked alike in blue embroidered Swiss organdie, made with very full skirts and sleeves, and finished with blue velvet ribbon. They wore picture hats of the same material. Each wore a string of crystals, the gift of the bridegroom. They carried Early Victorian posies of mixed flowers.
The bridegroom was assisted by his brother, as best man, and cousin, as groomsman. During the signing of the register. Miss Yvonne Coote sang "O Perfect Love."
A reception was held in the adjoining hall, where the tables were prettily decorated with Lorraine Lee rosebuds and daphne. The bride's mother received the guests. She wore a navy frock, with matching accessories. The bridegrooms mother was frocked in burgundy, with hat and gloves to match. The bride's travelling frock was a port brown ensemble with matching accessories.
Mr and Mrs Coote are residing at Bordertown.
