Ellen was born in 1846 to parents Jane (nee Bubb) and Thomas Cope. She passed away in 1907.

Notes

There is a question mark over Ellen's year or birthdate. Her gravestone has 14 March 1845 which is perfectly consistent with the censuses of 1851, 1861 and 1871 where her ages are 6, 16 and 26. However her birth was registered in Q1 1846 and her mother's unusual surname of Bubb makes the identification definitely correct. National birth registration had only been introduced in 1837 and was not yet mandatory so it is possible this registration was simply very late.
