Kenneth Samuel Copeland

COPELAND, Kenneth Samuel – Age 93 of Oakland, passed away on Monday, December 8, 1997 in a local hospital. He was born September 19, 1904 at Oakland, Oregon to Thomas Benton and Lilly Dale (Jones) Copeland. Kenneth's family were pioneers in the Oakland area. On September 29, 1929 in Roseburg he married Esther Fay McMahon. For many years, in addition to raising cattle on the family ranch, Mr. Copeland worked for the Oakland Feed Store. Later he bought the C & S Feed Store which he operated for many years. Kenneth spent his entire lifetime in the Oakland area. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Esther Fay Copeland of Oakland; three sons, K. Ronald Copeland and Barbara of Culver, Oregon, Bart Copeland and Karen of Oakland, Oregon and Kent Copeland of Portland, Oregon; a daughter, Faye McCain and Richard of Oakland, Oregon; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Wagner of Oceanside, California. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole Fenton who died November 30, 1971. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of the Firs. Pastor Richard Carter will officiate. Private interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Oakland. CHAPEL OF THE FIRS, Sutherlin is in charge of arrangements.
